The Road Song Project

“The Road Song Project” is the latest musical endeavor from singer/songwriter Gary Gorence. The songs draw on influences of rock, country, folk, blues and bluegrass. Gary weaves tales of life in the southwest and the magnetic pull of the open road. Modern day outlaws, moonshiners, personal observation and introspection are sprinkled throughout his songs. Gary is proficient on acoustic and electric 6-string and 12-string guitars, 5-string banjo and harmonica, and sings with a slight southern expression. You can see “The Road Song Project” performing as Gary solo, in a duo, or as a kickin’ 4-piece band.

To quote New Mexico Magazine… “If you like Tom Petty, you’ll probably appreciate the flavor of Gary’s music; it’s similarly rootsy, but in a New Mexico way.”

Gary was born in Oklahoma and grew up in west Texas. He currently resides in the Pecos Canyon of northern New Mexico.
